Responsibilities:
- Revenue strategy: Own the end-to-end revenue strategy, including pipeline generation, sales process design, pricing, and revenue forecasting consistent with the company’s public guidance.
- Go-to-market leadership: Align sales, marketing, and customer success functions around a unified go-to-market motion and shared revenue targets.
- Sales operations and systems: Implement or optimize CRM, sales enablement tools, and reporting dashboards to improve pipeline visibility and forecast accuracy, with revenue data reconciled to financial reporting.
- Revenue recognition and controls: Partner with the CFO and finance team on revenue recognition matters (ASC 606) and revenue-related internal controls to support accurate, auditable, and SOX-compliant reporting.
- Team leadership: Coach, manage, or build out the sales and business development team, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
- Customer lifecycle: Oversee customer acquisition, retention, expansion, and churn-reduction strategies in partnership with customer success.
- Board and investor reporting: Prepare revenue metrics, KPIs, and growth narratives for the Board, the Audit Committee, and quarterly earnings materials, in close coordination with the CFO and Investor Relations, participating in Board and Audit Committee meetings in person or virtually as required by the engagement.
- Disclosure discipline: Handle material revenue and pipeline information in accordance with the company’s Regulation FD and insider trading policies, coordinating with Investor Relations and the CFO before any external communication of material information.
- Partnerships and channels: Identify and develop strategic partnerships, channel relationships, or new market segments to drive revenue growth.
- Strategic partnership: Advise the CEO and leadership team on market positioning, competitive strategy, and revenue-related business decisions.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 25+ years of progressive revenue leadership experience, including prior CRO, VP Sales, or Head of Growth roles.
- Public company experience: Prior experience in a U.S. publicly traded company preferred, including familiarity with revenue disclosure practices, guidance-setting, and working with Investor Relations.
- Industry background: Open to all industries, with immediate priority needs in HealthTech, Manufacturing, BioTech, and Mining.
- Track record: Demonstrated history of building and scaling revenue functions and hitting or exceeding growth targets in a manner consistent with public-market expectations for predictability and disclosure.
- Fractional/consulting experience: Prior experience working in a fractional, interim, or advisory capacity across multiple clients preferred.
- Systems fluency: Proficiency with CRM and sales engagement platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and revenue analytics tools and comfort operating in on-site, hybrid, or remote team environments as the engagement requires.
- Communication: Strong executive presence and ability to communicate revenue strategy and performance clearly to the CEO, the Board, the Audit Committee, and investors, in person and virtually as needed.
- Regulatory awareness: Working knowledge of Regulation FD and insider trading policy considerations as they apply to revenue guidance and material, non-public information; subject to background check and compliance with the company’s insider trading policy.
- Availability: Days per week or hours per month to be determined per search, along with the candidate’s own preference for On-Site, Hybrid, or Remote work.
- Location requirements vary by engagement: On-Site engagements require regular in-person presence at company headquarters; Hybrid engagements require periodic on-site presence with remainder remote; Remote engagements require reasonable time-zone overlap with the company. Compensation & Logistics:
Compensation: To be determined per search, based on scope, engagement type, and days committed. Actual compensation will depend on the candidate’s experience, the finalized scope of work, and, where applicable, the company’s public disclosure obligations regarding executive compensation.
- Engagement type: Fractional, Interim, or Direct Placement, determined per search.
- Work arrangement: On-Site, Hybrid, or Remote, determined per search based on client need and candidate availability.
- Time commitment: To be determined per search; additional availability expected around quarter-end and earnings releases.
- Reporting structure: Reports directly to the CEO, with regular engagement with the leadership team, the Board of Directors, and the Audit Committee.
- Contract term: Typically 90 days to 18 months for Fractional or Interim engagements; Direct Placement engagements are permanent.
