5FT View Consulting, LLC is conducting several confidential searches on behalf of publicly traded companies across all industries, with immediate priority needs in HealthTech, Manufacturing, BioTech, and Mining. Our client seeks an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance function, during a period of growth, transition, turnaround, or go-to-market transformation, with primary emphasis on growth-stage engagements, reporting directly to the CEO. Each engagement is available as On-Site, Hybrid, or Remote, depending on client need and candidate availability, and may be structured as Fractional, Interim, or Direct Placement. This engagement requires comfort operating within a public company control environment, including SEC reporting deadlines, SOX compliance, and Board and Audit Committee governance.
Responsibilities:
  • Financial leadership: Own financial strategy including forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, and capital allocation, consistent with the company’s public disclosures and guidance framework.
  • SEC reporting and compliance: Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements, including oversight of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, and management of relationships with the independent (PCAOB-registered) auditor, tax advisors, and regulators.
  • Internal controls (SOX): Maintain and continuously strengthen internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (Sections 302 and 404), including certification support, control testing, and remediation of any identified deficiencies.
  • Cash and treasury management: Oversee cash position, banking relationships, working capital, and liquidity/runway planning.
  • Disclosure controls and investor relations: Support the company’s disclosure controls and procedures, Regulation FD compliance, and coordination with Investor Relations and outside counsel on material, non-public information.
  • Board and investor engagement: Prepare Board and Audit Committee materials, quarterly earnings materials, and investor communications; support the CEO and Investor Relations on earnings calls, participating in Board and Audit Committee meetings in person or virtually as required by the engagement.
  • Team development: Manage, mentor, or build out the accounting/finance team and supporting external providers (auditors, tax firms, SEC reporting consultants).
  • Strategic partnership: Advise the CEO and leadership team on pricing, unit economics, M&A evaluation, and other business decisions with financial and public-disclosure implications.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 25+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including prior CFO, VP Finance, or Controller-level roles.
  • Public company experience: Prior experience in a U.S. publicly traded company strongly preferred, including direct involvement in SEC reporting (10-K/10-Q/8-K), SOX 404 compliance, and interaction with a Board Audit Committee.
  • Industry background: Open to all industries, with immediate priority needs in HealthTech, Manufacturing, BioTech, and Mining.
  • Credentials: CPA required or strongly preferred; MBA or equivalent advanced financial credential a plus.
  • Fractional/consulting experience: Prior experience working in a fractional, interim, or advisory capacity, ideally including interim or transitional roles at public companies, preferred.
  • Systems fluency: Proficiency with public-company-grade ERP and reporting platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Workiva or similar SEC filing/XBRL tools) and FP&A tools and comfort operating in on-site, hybrid, or remote team environments as the engagement requires.
  • Communication: Strong executive presence and ability to communicate financial concepts and results clearly to the CEO, the Board, the Audit Committee, and investors, in person and virtually as needed.
  • Regulatory standing: Must be eligible to serve as, or in support of, a Section 16 officer/executive officer of a public company and to be bonded/insured under the company’s D&O program; subject to background check and compliance with the company’s insider trading policy.
  • Availability: Days per week or hours per month to be determined per search, along with the candidate’s own preference for On-Site, Hybrid, or Remote work.
  • Location requirements vary by engagement: On-Site engagements require regular in-person presence at company headquarters; Hybrid engagements require periodic on-site presence with remainder remote; Remote engagements require reasonable time-zone overlap with the company. Specific requirements are determined per search.
Compensation & Logistics:

Compensation: To be determined per search, based on scope, engagement type, and days committed. Actual compensation will depend on the candidate’s experience, the finalized scope of work, and, where applicable, the company’s public disclosure obligations regarding executive compensation.

  • Engagement type: Fractional, Interim, or Direct Placement, determined per search.
  • Work arrangement: On-Site, Hybrid, or Remote, determined per search based on client need and candidate availability.
  • Time commitment: To be determined per search; additional availability expected around quarter-end and earnings releases.
  • Reporting structure: Reports directly to the CEO, with regular engagement with the leadership team, the Board of Directors, and the Audit Committee.
  • Contract term: Typically 90 days to 18 months for Fractional or Interim engagements; Direct Placement engagements are permanent.
  • Start date: Targeting Q3/Q4 2026.
  • To apply: Go to Open Positions – 5FT View Consulting to apply, and specify your availability for On-Site, Hybrid, or Remote work, your desired compensation, and your interest in Fractional or Interim engagement or Direct Placement, in your cover letter.
