Common questions on financial planning and investing

Fractional leadership involves hiring a seasoned executive, such as a COO, CFO, or CMO, on a part-time, contract basis to bring experienced leadership without the cost or commitment of a full-time hire. You get high-impact support, tailored to your business needs and growth stage.

The terms are often used interchangeably, but there is nuance. A COO is traditionally a senior leader responsible for operational strategy and execution. An Integrator, as defined in EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System), is the person who harmonizes and aligns all moving parts of the business—vision, people, and processes. At 5FT View, we often serve as both, depending on your structure and needs.

You may need a fractional executive if:

  • You’re doing everything and it’s no longer sustainable
  • You’re stuck in the day-to-day and can’t focus on growth
  • You want to scale but lack operational infrastructure
  • Your team lacks accountability, clarity, or alignment
  • You’re hiring or restructuring and need strategic input
  • You want executive-level insight without full-time cost
  • Your business needs have outgrown you skills or desires

Yes! Some signs include:

  • You don’t have documented processes
  • You’re overwhelmed with operational tasks
  • You’re not clear on your business goals or how to reach them
  • Your team isn’t sure who’s responsible for what
  • You’re hiring but don’t have onboarding or training in place
  • Revenue is growing, but profit isn’t
  • You feel alone in your leadership role
  • You are not an effective people leader
Pricing varies based on the level of engagement, scope, and frequency. At 5FT View, we typically offer custom packages starting with monthly retainers or hourly project-based work. While more affordable than a full-time executive, our pricing reflects high-level expertise, strategic value, and hands-on support.
We recommend an initial engagement of at least 3–6 months to build momentum, establish trust, and make meaningful progress. However, we do offer project-based or short-term advisory engagements when appropriate. Our goal is to support our clients however they need us, so we are very flexible.
It starts with a discovery call to understand your needs. We evaluate which team member is best suited to meet your needs. From there, we create a tailored scope, whether that’s building systems, managing operations, hiring talent, or aligning your team. We meet regularly, track progress, and integrate seamlessly into your leadership team, even if it’s just a few hours a week.

No! While we’re familiar with and often operate within EOS frameworks, we tailor our approach to match your structure, whether you’re running EOS or building your own system.
We start with an in-depth discovery session to understand your goals, gaps, and priorities. Then, we build a custom roadmap, set a cadence for meetings, and begin executing against the agreed-upon milestones. We believe in clarity, consistency, and communication from day one.
Not at all. Our role is to support your vision, not take it over. We work closely with you and your team, creating systems and accountability that empower you to lead more effectively, rather than removing you from the equation. (Unless you want to be out of the day-to-day, and we get that a lot.)
We primarily work with small to mid-sized businesses, typically those with revenues between $ 500,000 and $100 million, although we also support startups and nonprofits. Our clients are generally founder-led and ready to grow, but are overwhelmed by operational challenges.
Our consultants bring experience across a variety of industries, including professional services, consulting, education, technology, healthcare, nonprofit, and more. We’re system-minded, people-focused, and quick to adapt.
We don’t drop in with a slide deck or six-inch binder of strategic recommendations and disappear. We roll up our sleeves and get in the trenches with you. Our team is operationally-minded, people-first, and obsessed with details. And, we don’t just stay at the 30,000-foot view. We work at the 5-foot level where the real work happens, always keeping your big picture in mind. Our offerings are tailored to meet your specific needs, ensuring you receive the assistance you require.
