5FT View Consulting is conducting a confidential executive search on behalf of a licensed Commercial Contractor headquartered and operating in Louisiana. Our client seeks a seasoned Fractional Chief Marketing Officer to build a modern marketing function that sharpens positioning, generates qualified pipeline, and supports aggressive regional growth across commercial construction markets.
Responsibilities:
  • Marketing strategy: Develop a commercial construction marketing strategy tailored to priority sectors such as healthcare, education, retail, hospitality, industrial, and public works. Define the firm’s value proposition and competitive differentiators across Louisiana and adjacent markets.
  • Brand and positioning: Establish or refresh the firm’s brand architecture, visual identity, and messaging framework. Ensure consistency across proposals, job signage, website, collateral, and trade presence.
  • Business development support: Partner with the BD/Sales function and project executives to produce sector-specific marketing assets, qualifications packages, project sheets, and proposal content that measurably improve hit rates with owners, architects, and program managers.
  • Digital presence: Lead website redesign, SEO, and content strategy. Build a LinkedIn-led thought leadership program for principals and project leaders to elevate credibility with owners, developers, and design partners.
  • Content and thought leadership: Develop project case studies, photography and video programs, owner testimonials, and speaking opportunities that demonstrate the firm’s delivery track record.
  • Events and industry presence: Plan and oversee participation in AGC, ABC, CMAA, and sector-specific events, groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and community sponsorships across Louisiana. Maximize ROI on event spend and relationship capture.
  • Vendor and resource management: Select and manage outside agencies, photographers, videographers, freelancers, or junior marketing staff. Build a lean, cost-effective marketing function appropriate to the firm’s size and growth stage.
  • Performance metrics: Own and report on the marketing scorecard. Key performance indicators include:
  • Marketing-sourced qualified opportunities
  • Pipeline influence and contribution to backlog
  • Brand awareness within target owner and A/E communities
  • Website engagement and inbound lead quality
  • Proposal and RFQ hit rate uplift attributable to marketing assets
Qualifications:
  • Executive experience: Proven experience as a CMO, VP of Marketing, or senior marketing leader, preferably within commercial construction, AEC, or closely related professional services desired.
  • Commercial construction expertise desired: Demonstrated understanding of owner buying behavior, design-bid-build and design-build delivery, and how marketing supports preconstruction, RFQ/RFP responses, and long-cycle relationship building.
  • Regional knowledge helpful: Familiarity with the Louisiana and Gulf South construction market is strongly preferred, including key owners, developers, architects, and industry associations.
  • Strategic capability: Ability to translate business strategy into actionable marketing plans with clear ROI. Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on in a lean environment.
  • Execution track record: Demonstrated ability to deliver brand, digital, content, and project marketing programs from plan through launch.
  • Communication: Excellent writing, storytelling, and executive communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly with firm leadership, field staff, owners, and design partners.
Compensation & Logistics:
  • Rate: $150 to $300 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Employment type: Fractional, part-time.
  • Reporting structure: Reports directly to Founder.
  • Start date: Immediate
